How do you adjust a mechanical pressure switch?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Correctly adjusting a pressure switch is essential for the reliable operation of pressure-controlled installations. Here we explain step by step how to do this professionally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Mechanical and electrical connection<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Start by mounting the pressure switch in the designated pressure source connection. Then connect the switch’s electrical contacts to a continuity tester or indicator light. This will help you see when the switch actually switches during adjustment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Presetting the switching point<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      First, turn the adjustment screw for the switching point fully in (i.e., clockwise). This sets the switching value to the highest possible pressure. This allows you to start from a known starting point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Applying pressure and adjustment<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Now build up the desired switching pressure by applying pressure to the pressure switch. Monitor the value with a reliable pressure gauge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Once you are at or just above the desired switching pressure, slowly turn the adjustment screw counterclockwise (i.e., out) until the instrument switches\u2014you will see this on the tester or the light that changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Now reduce the pressure until the switch switches back. Then increase the pressure again to check whether the switching point is correctly adjusted. If this is not the case, you will need to adjust the adjustment screw slightly. Repeat this step until the switching point is exactly where you want it to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
