The ULTRA-HERM\u00ae (High Energy Rope Mount) utilizes a traditional Enidine helical wire rope isolator, encapsulated in a patented elastomer compound. The stainless steel cable of the mount provides a robust construction, while the elastomer adds extra damping and stiffness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With nearly 60 years of experience in designing and manufacturing shock and vibration isolation products for military applications, Enidine offers a wide range of standard and custom energy absorption, vibration isolation, and noise damping products. The ULTRA-HERM is the first of its kind, featuring a unique, compact design and a flame-retardant elastomer that requires less space to absorb shocks compared to traditional isolators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ULTRA-HERM\u00ae mount is easily scalable, and its performance can be easily adjusted by varying the wire diameter, loop size, number of loops, and elastomer properties. The ULTRA-HERM\u00ae has proven particularly effective in applications with a low natural frequency (\u201csoft deck\u201d) of 12-16 Hz, reducing impact to below 15G. The sealed construction also allows for easy NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) cleaning. Given that the mounting size of the ULTRA-HERM\u00ae isolator is nearly identical to that of standard wire rope isolators used in many applications, equipment upgrades can be performed quickly and seamlessly with a direct replacement option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During Enidine’s most recent interview at the WEST 2025 conference, they provided more information about the ULTRA-HERM:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“At Enidine, we are committed to continuous investment in materials science and the custom engineering behind our products to meet the ever-changing demands of the defense industry,” said Dan Radice, Defense Sales Manager at Enidine. “By working closely with our customers, we identified the need for an HERM with enhanced energy management and higher efficiency in a more compact design. Our ULTRA-HERM was specifically developed to address this need, offering improved safety, higher load capacity, and better damping properties. We look forward to introducing this innovative product to the market during WEST 2025.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to naval ships, the ULTRA-HERM can also be used in submarines and other applications where outgassing and sensitivity are critical. This makes it an ideal product for protecting personnel and equipment from the harmful wear associated with extreme environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
