The ERDP remote drive

The ERDP remote drive provides electrical power to pneumatic grippers, clamps, and linear actuators, independent of factory air systems. Unlike a conventional pneumatic system, the remote drive and attached actuator(s) form a closed-loop system with no air exhausted during operation, increasing energy efficiency. The ERDP can power multiple actuators simultaneously and emulates the behavior of pneumatic actuators, such as gripping and releasing. The remote drive is programmable and can include a coupling brake to reduce energy consumption during long gripping or clamping intervals.
