A gas spring must be installed correctly to ensure reliable operation. Incorrect installation can cause the seal to wear out more quickly. It can also lead to gas leaks. In some applications, this can even pose a safety risk.
The installation position directly affects the lubrication of the seal. Therefore, it is best to install the gas spring with the piston rod pointing downward. Choose a different position only if the manufacturer explicitly specifies it.
