7GL Serie – General Location Proximity Sensor

The Canfield 7GL is a rugged proximity sensor designed for detecting piston position on NFPA pushrod cylinders with bore sizes from 2″ to 8″. Based on the proven “floating clamp” technology of the 7000 series, the sensor offers easy and stable mounting without modification for different cylinder sizes.

This version is intended for general industrial environments and features a rugged housing in anodized 6061-T6 aluminum, with internal fully epoxy-coated circuit board. The 7GL is mechanically shock and vibration resistant and comes with a standard ½″ conduit connection and 9 ft of PVC cable. Thanks to its 85 Gauss parallel sensitivity, it works reliably with magnetic piston cylinders.

The sensor contains a normally open reed contact (SPST) and switches up to 0.5 A at voltages from 0 to 120 V AC/DC. Its fast switching times (0.5 ms on, 0.1 ms off) make it ideal for applications where speed and repeat accuracy are critical.
