DPPC (Digital Proportional Pressure Control) for Plunger Up Glass Applications

The DPPC is an electronically controlled three-way proportional valve. It uses an array of valves, each having unique flow characteristics, in order to achieve the target pressure quickly and precisely. While this platform is capable of controlling a variety of functions, the DPPC with MOD EAG6 is tailored specifically for plunger up control, with or without use of the Emhart Plunger Press Control closed loop system.

The DPPC Mod EAG9 has been designed to be robust. Benefiting from MAC’s decades of expertise in the glass industry, each of its eight valves are modified for the glass environment. The unit features a proprietary circuit board having an integrated pressure sensor, thus enabling precise control over the output pressure and meeting the demanding requirements of the glass NNPB process. Additionally, this new board contains an exclusive diagnostic circuit and makes possible the addition of Fieldbus communication on future releases (i.e. IO Link). The circuit board, along with all direct operated valves, are located in a sealed housing to make the valve exceptionally resilient to the challenging glass production environment. All components are likewise designed to withstand high temperatures that characterize this application.

Advantages

  • Resistant to harsh conditions (humidity and condensation),
  • Designed to withstand high temperatures,
  • Adapts the orifice to the air consumption while maintaining the correct pressure as the plunger extends,
  • Regulates the pressure steadily and accurately when the plunger slows and stops in the pressing position with stability,
  • Determines the initial orifice depending on the command signal and the output volume,
  • 100% drop-in,
  • Field repairable,
  • Built-in electronics separated from mechanical components and sealed to prevent from ingress of contaminants.
